
BlocBoy JB was reportedly arrested for multiple criminal charges on Thursday (Feb. 28). The rapper was reportedly detained after turning himself in to the Shelby County Sheriff’s office in Memphis, TMZ reports.
The “Shoot” rapper was busted for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, as well as for theft of property.
After the cops issued an warrant for his arrest, BlocBoy, whose real name is James Baker, posted several videos on Instagram, which police took as a message that he was not going to surrender. Nevertheless, the “Look Alive” artist eventually turned himself in. During the hearing, the rapper’s lawyers said that he had taken so long to surrender because he had been traveling.
Earlier this year, BlocBoy JB reportedly filed a lawsuit agains the makers of Fortnite, Epic Games, claiming that the company stole his signature dance move from his “Shoot: music video and repurposed it under a different name. BlocBoy stated that he was in the process of copyrighting the dance prior to filing the lawsuit.
BlocBoy JB’s bond was set at $50,000.
