A birthday serenade by a beloved soulful British singer? That’s what we like. On Monday (Oct. 8), Bruno Mars celebrated his 33rd birthday by posting a video with Ed Sheeran singing “Happy Birthday.”
The “Finesse” singer is currently on his 24k Magic World Tour that’s set to conclude in December. However, Mars was able to make time for his birthday while backstage at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville before taking the stage.
In a clip posted to social media, Ed Sheeran is seen strumming the guitar and singing while Mars enjoys an assortment of birthday cupcakes. The caption reads: “You know you’ve made it when you can hire Ed Sheeran to sing you Happy Birthday #ExtraForever! #HappyBrunoMarsDay!”
Sheeran also mentions some of Mars’ accomplishments in a silly but lovable manner singing “Happy birthday to two-time Super Bowl-performing Bruno.” Toward the end of the song, Mars demands that Sheeran start over, which he did with no hesitation.
Back in August, Sheeran spoke to ET about a possible collaboration and bromance with the 33-year-old singer saying “I was in the studio the other day with Bruno Mars. We know each other very well. We hang out . . . we hang out.”
