Nicki Minaj is on a roll. The Queen artist recently linked with popular South Korean boy band BTS on a new version of their hit single “Idol” on Friday (Aug. 24).
On the 4-minute single, Nicki spits English rhymes over the electric dance beat. “If you getting money, rubber bands in the air / Never gave an F, they can cancel my care / ‘Cause if he look good, throw my pants in the air,” she raps.
“Idol” is the lead single from BTS’ highly-anticipated album, Love Yourself: Answer, which debuted on Friday (Aug. 24). According to Seoul Economic Daily, BTS reached out to Minaj after completing the upcoming project.
Rumors of the new collaboration first began swirling after a fan reportedly discovered a teaser video for the new video on social media, which listed Minaj as a feature. Later that day, fans noticed that Minaj had “liked” the video as well as other related tweets.
Love Yourself: Answer is reportedly the final installment of BTS’ Love Yourself series. The compilation project will feature new music and songs previously featured on Sept. 2018’s Love Yourself: Her and Love Yourself: Tear. The album includes past hits like “Fake Love” and “DNA.” BTS is also preparing for their upcoming Love Yourself Tour, which will hits cities in North America in Sept. 2018.
