Ten people have reportedly been charged in connection to a string of burglaries targeting Lebron James, Rihanna and other celebrity homes, TMZ reports.
The charges include criminal street gang conspiracy, first degree residential burglary, and home invasion robbery.
Police cracked the case wide open after a neighbor called to report a robbery at NFL star Robert Woods’ home. During the arrest of the suspect, cops found other items connected to the case.
Authorities previously arrested four people connected to the crime spree after video shows some of them entering Los Angeles Dodgers player Yasiel Puig’s home and raiding his bedroom in Oct. 2018. They later arrested seven more men, all between the ages of 18 and 25. One of the first four arrested – who is the mother of one of the other suspects – has been relieved of charges, officials say.
Officials say the burglars hit more than 24 homes and were targeting other high-profile celebrities including Viola Davis. They reportedly stole more than $1 million in property, including $50,000 in cash, purses, and one vehicle. Police say one of the suspects also had a firearm in his possession.
It’s unclear when or if a trial date has been set for the criminals at this time. They could be facing serious prison time.
