Camila Cabello taps Rae Sremmurd‘s Swae Lee for an updated version of her acoustic song “Real Friends” from her debut, self-titled solo album.
The former girl group member’s serene vocals work wonderfully with the guitar heard throughout the song, and Swae Lee’s verse is a welcome addition to the summer-tinged track.
“Ok I’m too excited to wait till Friday,” Cabello wrote on Twitter Wednesday (Aug. 15) about her eagerness to release the track. “#RealFriends coming out midnight ET.”
As we know, Swae Lee is no stranger to hopping on tracks with some of the biggest names in the game, like Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa and Travis Scott. As her track record is beginning to show, Cabello has had her fair share of high-profile features for her solo spots as well. She’s worked with Pharrell Williams, Young Thug, Pitbull, J Balvin and more.
Both acts released highly-anticipated projects this year. Cabello released her solo album Camila in January, while Rae Sremmurd released their multi-disc album, SR3MM. The latter effort featured not only joint tracks from Swae and his real-life brother Slim Jxmmi, but the brothers Sremm also had a few solo songs of their own.
