Cam’ron Calls Kanye West An Uncle Tom On New Dipset Album

Cam’ron and Kanye West’s friendship has always been fickle. Things may have continued to go the sour route as Cam addressed his thoughts on his former collaborator on The Diplomats’ new album, Dipset Ties.

The opening track, “Intro: Stay Down,” has all members of The Diplomats walking down memory lane, but Cam took things a step further when he called West an “Uncle Tom.”

“That Kanye only f**k wit’chu when no one else is f**kin’ with him,” he raps before jumping into the producer’s misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder.

They shootin’ at us? sh*t, I’m duckin’ with him (Yo, look out!)

That Kanye only f**k wit’chu when no one else is f**kin’ with him
He told me he was bipolar (what, n***a?)

Cam’ron does, however, have an allegiance to longtime friend and Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash. Both acts were under the Roc-A-Fella umbrella in the aughts and would work together on songs like “Gone” from Ye’s Late Registration and Down and Out from Cam’s Purple Haze.

Over the years, Cam has taken a few shots at ‘Ye. In 2010, the rapper dropped a freestyle over “Runway,” expressing his frustrations with the producer after he didn’t provide a verse for the Harlem native’s album. Things were eventually patched up and they worked together on the original version of “Christmas In Harlem” from Kanye’s “G.O.O.D. Music Fridays” series.

Prior to “Stay Down,” Cam’s comments on ‘Ye were more positive. On 2017’s The Program, the rapper spoke about Kanye’s beef with Jay-Z on “Coleslaw.” While everyone assumed it was a diss, Cam cleared up the drama with Billboard, explaining the bars were defending him.

“Yeah, I don’t want anyone to think that’s a diss track. Kanye said something about JAY-Z and he went AWOL and dyed his hair blonde,” he said. “I was like, ‘He doesn’t have to go through all that, he’s f**king Kanye West.’ I just wanted to send that message to him. That’s basically it.
