Word hit the Internet last month that MTV is working with Genius to dig up a collection of unreleased interviews. First, an interview with Ol’ Dirty Bastard surfaced. Now, they have revealed a vintage interview with Cam’ron from 1998.
The clip is from young Killa Cam’s first sit-down with MTV. The Dipset forefather talked about putting his mom on his album, his relationship with Mase and rapping for Biggie, among other things.
Peep some excerpts below:
On how he got started rapping with Mase:
“Well, I got started cause I grew up with Mase. Me and Mase is from the same neighborhood we used to rap together on the street. In this like music group we was called Children of the Corn, me and him my cousin’s name is bloodshed he passed away last year. We just used to rap on the street. And basically we used to play ball, ball was like a first priority. But I went away to school, and Mase got put on over at Bad Boy. I got into some problems out in school. I used to go to a junior college in Texas. And then when I came back, Mase was like: ‘start writing I’ll put you on.’”
