While Cardi B was hitting the Grammys stage to perform and collect her well-deserved award, her husband Offset was making power moves of his own. The Migos member announced the release date of his highly-anticipated solo studio album on Sunday (Feb. 10), and of course he did it in a truly shocking manner with a video of his wife giving birth to their daughter, Kulture.
The video, which was shared on social media, begins with a series of behind-the-scenes clips of Offset working on his album. It then cuts to intimate moments the ATL rapper shares with his kids before showing Cardi in the hospital. Viewers get a first look at the “Money” artist going through what appears to be excruciating pain as she gets ready to welcome their daughter to the world. The video ends on a mid-shot of Offset’s face, who looks perplexed and mortified at what he just witnessed.
As previously reported, Cardi and Offset welcomed Kulture Kiari in July 2018. Offset noted that his album will focus on his budding family and his past issues with infidelity.
The LP will serve as the final solo album to release amongst the Migos. It follows Takeoff’s The Last Rocket and Quavo’s Quavo Huncho, both of which were released in 2018.
In addition to the album, Offset will also be releasing a documentary, most likely chronicling his creative journey. The album (the name hasn’t been revealed at this time) will drop on Feb. 22. Check out the teaser in the video below.
