Cardi B revealed on social media Monday night (Oct. 22) that her newest single since releasing her debut album Invasion Of Privacy will drop this week. It looks like her new gift came early.
The song, titled “Money,” was expected to drop on Thursday (Oct. 25), but on Tuesday (Oct. 23), the song was released. The cover art for the single features the Bronx-bred musician squatting down in a gold-plated room with an assortment of jewels and accessories covering her arms. She has an ornate headpiece on that covers her eyes, and her elaborate tattoo is on display since she is perceivably naked.
“I was born to flex, diamonds on my neck,” she says in the chorus over a piano-trap heavy beat. “…but nothin’ in this world that I like more than checks.” The lyrics reference claims that she “went pop,” her daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus and even Black Panther‘s “Wakanda.”
MY SINGLE “MONEY” WILL BE OUT THIS THURSDAY 12:30pm,” the “Money Bag” MC wrote on her social media pages on Monday night. Billboard reveals that in a now-deleted Instagram post, she reportedly teased the single last week.
Cardi also revealed that her husband Offset will come out with his solo album very soon. In an Instagram post of the recent Billboard top 10 songs, she wrote, ”MOMMY SHARK & DADDY SHARK #1 #2. My single coming this week, Set album coming soon.” Her collaborator and Takeoff’s Migos cohort/family member Quavo recently celebrated his solo album Quavo Huncho debuting at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
