It’s a sad day for the Bardi Gang. Cardi B will no longer be joining Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic World Tour this fall. The rapper announced the tough decision on Thursday night (July 26) on social media, saying that she is still recovering from the mental and physical exhaustion of giving birth to her daughter Kulture.
“I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically,” she wrote. “I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing. Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road.”
Bruno Mars also addressed the “I Like That” artist on his social media account. “I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing,” he wrote. “I also know we’ll share the stage when the time is right. We love you Cardi and we will play ‘Bodak Yellow’ every night in your honor.”
As previously reported, Cardi gave birth to her first child, Kulture Kiari with her husband Offset on July 10. Since then, Cardi has been very open about the ups and downs of motherhood. While the Bronx native has admitted to being very tired, she has also shared that she’s been loving every moment of being a mom.
The 24K Magic World Tour kicks off on Sept. 7, in Denver, and is expected to conclude in Oct. 2018. It is unclear if Cardi will be replaced with another act at this time.
