Chance The Rapper is taking it upon himself to speak up for the people of Chicago as the film Chi-Raq hits theaters Friday (Dec. 4) and he’s not with it at all. The Chi-Town native went straight to Twitter to say just what he thought about the latest Spike Lee production.
The “Juice” rapper went on the record to say that the film is “exploitive” and “problematic” as well as saying that the people of the Windy City are not supporting it whatsoever. And no, he didn’t stop there as he went on to call out the way women are depicted throughout the storyline which he expressed as offensive to the mothers who have actually lost children in the threatening city.
Check out the string of tweets where Chance made sure to hold no punches on how he felt about the film.
Let me be the one from Chicago to personally tell you we not supporting this film out here

Also the idea that women abstaining from sex would stop murders is offensive and a slap in the face to any mother that lost a child here

You don’t do any work with the children of Chicago, You don’t live here, you’ve never watched someone die here. Don’t tell me to be calm
