Kanye West’s seventh studio solo album, The Life Of Pablo, was slated to arrive on Friday (Feb. 12), but he had just one more major addition to cement on his track list before placing the project on the market.
According to Ye, fellow Chicago artist Chance The Rapper was the reason for the delay. In a string of tweets from both parties, they were busy putting the finishing touches on the track “Waves,” which has now been etched on that viral photo of T.L.O.P.‘s track list. But for the Acid Rap lyricist, it was an uphill battle to get the melody on the album.
“I fought everyone to keep Waves on the album. I spent all night finishing it,” he wrote on Twitter. “The world is better because of it.”

Chance is also featured on Ye’s “Ultra Light Beam,” the opening track for T.L.O.P. Listeners were introduced to the album in its entirety on Thursday (Feb. 11) during West’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at Madison Square Garden, a feat that he said was made possible by Diddy.
“There would be no MSG without @iamdiddy my OG,” he wrote. “He fought this war 15 years ago. Respect OG.”

He also gave props to Rihanna for her NYFW debut with her highly-anticipated clothing line FENTY X PUMA. He mentioned with the premiere of her collection that the “paradigm has shifted.” The “Wolves” rapper also made it clear that fashion “ain’t no joke for me… It’s a way of life… creative expression and industry…”
