Chance The Rapper gave Austin, Texas a treat during his performance at Stubb’s BBQ. During his set, the rapper debuted a new single for fans. Luckily it was caught on video because as of now, it doesn’t have a title and it is still unclear if the single has even been previously recorded.
But that’s not the only thing Chance had to share with the Texan audience. As he began singing, the rapper dropped a one-line hint saying, “new album alert.” At the conclusion of the single debut, Chance reiterated his one-liner by suggesting the song would be featured on his “third mixtape.”
It’s been two years since Chance released his Acid Rap mixtape in 2013. Although it’s been a minute since the last ‘tape, the rapper has released his free Surf album to critical acclaim, and has managed to keep his name in the mix with features and remixes, including Kehlani’s “The Way” from her recent You Should Be Here project. He has also embarked on his “Family Matters” tour, which ends in November in Los Angeles.
No word on when Chance The Rapper will officially name and drop his recently performed single, but fans can definitely look out for something new dropping from the rapper in the near future. Watch footage from his appearance in Austin below:
