It’s hard to ignore the impact Chance the Rapper has made throughout his ascension to superstardom, which is why the three-time Grammy Award-winning emcee now sits on Fortune‘s “50 World’s Greatest Leaders” list for 2017.
Landing at number 46, Lil Chano is commended for shattering music industry norms as an independent artist, who made history when he took home his first gramophone for his streaming-only mixtape, Coloring Book, earlier this year.
The publication also saluted the Chicago native’s recent $1 million donation to Chicago Public Schools after a disappointing meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner on educational funding, which won’t be the last and is far from the first good deed in his hometown. After receiving a heartfelt thank you from local high school students, the 23-year-old confirmed that he’s just getting started.
Good ass job, Chance. Check out Fortune‘s full list, featuring the likes of Ava DuVernay and LeBron James, here.
