Donald Glover has possibly returned back to his once abandoned Childish Gambino persona with a mysterious app that might unveil new and much-needed music.
Glover resurfaced Friday afternoon (June 17) on his twitter page to introduce Pharos, a spacey app with a timer. The possibly Metronome-inspired clock has been predicted to end sometime this afternoon. Some believe the ambient sounds on the app are a slowed down version of a song he premiered at Bonnaroo in 2015. A look from that performance also shows the new direction the artist might be going in.

The rapper’s 2014 EP/mixtape STN MTN / Kauai was the last time Gambino’s vocals were heard. Since then, he’s stayed mum on new music, but fans have held on through odd reports of studio sessions and engineer credits.
Thanks to a few crafty fans, it shows something will be released through the app for purchase. What that is, remains to be seen.
Looks like @donaldglover is gonna sell stuff through https://t.co/IXMSMqh5S1 app. Also, 'learn to code' in there. pic.twitter.com/AshhS71M6P

So is Pharos a new persona or a new project? Complex reports the name was officially trademarked by Glover in May. Looks like the answer will be revealed to us all pretty soon.
