Chris Brown was arrested early Sunday morning in Washington D.C. on felony assault charges after punching a man in the face.
Brown was allegedly approached by two women in front of the W Hotel at 4:25AM. Earlier in the evening, the “Fine China” singer was out clubbing at the late night D.C. watering hole The Park at Fourteenth, where he had a scheduled appearance behind Howard University’s annual Homecoming festivities. As Brown posed for the photo with the two women, two men jumped into the picture in a token photobomb move, reports TMZ. Brown reportedly didn’t think it was funny.
“I’m not into this gay s**t, I’m into boxing,” Brown said according to police, and threw a punch at one of the men. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. He suffered a broken nose from the altercation. According to TMZ, the victim was ready to accept an apology before taking more serious actions, but since Brown didn’t oblige, he will now certainly be pressing charges.
However, the Brown camp has a different story. According to those close to Brown, the pop singer was trying to ward off stans from entering his tour bus.
Brown, 24, and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy, 35, remain in MPDC custody and will stay there until tomorrow when they both will have to go before a judge. What does this mean for Brown, who is still on probation for his 2009 assault on Rihanna? Bad news. If he is found guilty of violating his probation he could serve up to four years in prison. He is due back in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Nov. 20 for a probation status hearing.
This isn’t the first time Brown has been accused of using a gay slur. It is rumored that his homophobia got the better of him and his camp earlier this year in an altercation with Frank Ocean at a nearby Los Angeles studio. However, no charges were pressed and the case was closed by police in February.
Brown is getting ready to release his sixth album X on Dec. 3.
