In the event that a seminal hip-hop album sustains 25 years of significance, it’s customary for fans and music enthusiasts to acknowledge its place among the wealth of prolific albums in the world of music. Rap group Cypress Hill’s debut album is no exception.
According to Billboard, in honor of the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, a remastered version of the album will be issued on GetOnDown.com. However, in the grand scheme of re-branding, the limited edition will come in a black resin skull sculpture.
According to Rolling Stone, only 1,991 copies of the black skull will be made. This tidbit of news is fitting, giving the fact that the album was released in 1991. The skull will also come with a 100-plus page booklet with an interview of the rap group as well as archival photos. Fans eager to get their copy of the reissue of Cypress Hill’s debut album can purchase it for pre-order on GetOnDown.com starting Aug. 13.
