As the end summer lingers, De La Soul drops off their latest banger off their upcoming album with none other than Usher Raymond entitled “Greyhounds.” The seasoned trio of emcees invite the “No Limit” singer to hold the hook while they tell stories about their travels over a somber melody backed by heart-pounding drums. According to Posdnuos, the song was inspired by a random moment in the car while on break from recording.
“We were taking a break from recording to drive & get some food,” Pos explained in a press release. “Along the way we passed the Bus station and someone in the car in a tour guide voice said ‘and to the left is the bus station where people come from everywhere to get their piece of Hollywood,’ I immediately thought that would be a great song having the entry & departure point of the story be the Greyhound bus.”

The song follows their previous releases like “Drawn” featuring Little Dragon and the Snoop Dogg assisted jam “Pain.” After spending weeks performing across the country, the Long Island based group will release their 9th studio album and the Anonymous Nobody next week (Aug. 26).
