Another member of the 2016 XXL Freshman Class is making waves, and he’s a Florida rapper Denzel Curry. The underrated spitta brings his impeccable flow to a bangin’ new track titled “Today.” It features “All Day” rapper/singer Allan Kingdom and Compton rapper Boogie.
Curry has proven himself as a true force in the rap scene with his mixtape, Imperial. With a higher quality of music than the rest of the pack, he positioned himself as a force to be reckoned with — despite his young age.
On the song, Denzel’s rhymes are filled with higher ideals and he ties them together perfectly with a swagger and youthful approach. Allan Kingdom supplies his unique vocals to a wavy hook while Boogie backs it all up with a mean verse.
Curry told Fader in an email: “These are my inner thoughts this is me being me honest. It’s a blessing to work with Boogie and have him on tour with us. Allan is family, plain and simple.”
This collaboration track comes on the heels of Curry’s tour announcement. Named the Black Metal Terrorist tour, Curry looks to bring his high energy to the live stage. The tour kicks off in September at Chicago’s Riot Fest and carries all the way through November.
