Desiigner Pokes Fun At Future References With Debut Mixtape Cover

As fans continue to pit Desiigner and Future against one another, the Brooklyn artist trolled everyone with his announcement of his debut mixtape.

On Friday (April 7), the rapper posted to Instagram an homage to Prince’s Purple Rain–the same move made by Future for his Purple Reign mixtape. After the resurgence of the rapper’s hit song “Panda” on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo project, many have confused the 19-year-old for Future.

Speaking with Hip Hop DX in March, Desiigner denied jacking Future’s style, claiming he’s just being himself. “It is what it is,” he said. “People gonna try to compare me. It is what it is…I know I am Desiigner. I’m just letting people know…Ain’t no disrespect to him. May that man be God-blessed, man, keep doing his thing hitting the charts. Keep doing his thing, but I’m Desiigner.”

The rapper also posted a few behind the scenes moments on social media for the visuals to “Panda.”
