Two months before her 75th birthday, legendary songstress Diana Ross gave a moving performance at the 2019 Grammys that was reminiscent to her iconic 1983 show in New York City’s Central Park.
After a moving introduction by her nine-year-old grandson, Diana Ross walked onto the stage in a stunning, flowing red dress, prepared to sing some of her most memorable hits.
“When I was a little girl, singing made me happy, made my parents happy, and led to this day,” Ross said, opening her performance with “The Best Years Of My Life.” She then walked into the crowd while performing “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand),” doing exactly what the song said. She even extended the mic to Jaden Smith, who sang along for a few notes. Her daughter, actress Tracee Ellis Ross, joined the crowd in waving their hands along with the performance.
“All is possible with music,” Diana Ross said as the song came to a close. “You can lead the way.”
