Diddy has taken to social media to share his thoughts on Kim Porter’s passing. In a throwback video during the pair’s December 2006 Essence cover photo shoot, Diddy captioned the emotional reel by stating he’s managing to figure out life without the influential being.
“For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare,” he said. “But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much.”
Diddy and Porter became a couple in the ’90s, producing their first child together, Christian Casey Combs. They later had twin girls in 2006, D’Lila and Jessie James. In the pair’s past Essence cover story, Diddy said Porter was unlike any other woman he met.
“She kind of made me nervous. She wasn’t like a New York girl. She was Bohemian, mixed with Georgia-peach hospitality. I got the idea she’d like doing stuff like walking barefoot in the grass,” he said. “I didn’t think I could get her to like me…She was smooth, you know, like ice. She’s cool and collected and thinks before she speaks. You meet a lot of young ladies, and they just don’t do that. Kim was never pressed; she was always in control.”

Another person who was greatly affected by Porter’s prowess was Voletta Wallace, Biggie Smalls’ mother. In her memory, Wallace paid tribute to the late mother-of-four in an Instagram post, accompanied by a picture of her son with Porter and Diddy.
“I am heartbroken for Quincy, Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila in the loss of their mother yet I know their love of her and time will comfort their grieving hearts and I pray that God gives Sean the strength to heal and pull the family together,” Wallace wrote. “Kim was a beautiful loving soul and we will always be reminded of her grace and legacy in the amazing children she left behind.”
On Thursday (Nov. 15), Porter passed away in her California-based home. Medical examiners are still searching for the primary cause of death, noting that she was battling symptoms similar to pneumonia or the flu.
