DJ Khaled is known for joining forces with some of music’s biggest names on songs that dominate airwaves and now the Snapchat heavyweight says he’s in the process of getting Kendrick Lamar to feature on a new “anthem.”
In an interview with The J Cruz Show on Wednesday (March 16), Khaled said that he and K. Dot are seriously discussing a collaboration.
“I am talking to Kendrick Lamar about an anthem that I want him on. He waiting on me actually. I told him I was tweaking something, ’cause I want to present it where the mic just automatically comes on,” he said.
According to the Miami native, though the new track is in its beginning stages, he’s remained in contact with Lamar and his TDE crew in an effort to bring the song to fruition.
“Me and Kendrick been talking about it. I’ve seen him a few times since I’ve been out here. I’ve been staying in touch with Top Dawg [Entertainment].”
Khaled, who most recently teamed up with Chris Brown, Fetty Wap, Future, and Trey Songz for his 2015 release I Changed A Lot, urged fans to stay tuned because their joint musical venture is coming soon.
“Definitely expect something with me and Kendrick. You know what I’m saying? Because I ain’t giving up, I’m [going to] get that,” he said.
