President Obama has many a hip-hop moment peppered throughout his two terms (see: Jay-Z’s “Open Letter“) but one of the most memorable may have been his swagged out entrance at the White House Correspondents to the tune of DJ Khaled’s street banger “All I Do Is Win.”
“Obama, I see you, and I appreciate you,” DJ Khaled told MTV News Tuesday night (Apr. 30) at the Gig It launch party in New York City.
“‘All I Do Is Win’ is one of the biggest anthems of all time, I think, and it’s a timeless record,” he said of the double platinum single which features T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop and Rick Ross. “It represents winners, and Obama’s a winner, I’m a winner, you’re a winner. And it represents the people, and it’s love and excitement, so shout-out to Obama.”
The veteran heavy hitter also spoke on his upcoming project Suffering From Success, which includes his most recent posse cut “No New Friends,” and the meaning of the title. “It opened my mind up to say success comes with stress and happiness,” he explained. “So, when I’m leaving the doctor’s office, driving home, I was like, ‘That’s gonna be the name of my new album: Suffering From Success.’ “
