Nothing like a “major key” to brighten your day. Ask DJ Khaled, who surprised UC Berkeley Department of Statistics students during their commencement with a performance of his timeless hit “All I Do Is Win.”
After students were recognized and rewarded with their diplomas and given some sage advice from keynote speaker, advertising executive Steve Stoute, their “gift” emerged from the shadows in a powder blue suit.
Most graduates and audience members seemed a bit perplexed, while others were loving the special surprise from the Florida producer. One student took out his cell phone and snapped a quick pic of him and the Grateful hitmaker.
“I didn’t come out here to do a concert, I came here to praise the young kings and queens for graduating today,” he said after his performance. “This is so inspiring and such a motivational situation today…everything he [Stoute] was saying is facts and is true…I had to bet on myself, and look at me now, I’m on stage with young kings and queens and a generation of geniuses that’s gonna run the world.’
The graduation wouldn’t have been complete without a legendary Khaled-ism. He finished his speech with “They don’t want us to graduate, so we gon’ graduate!”
