
Dr. Dre’s year is certainly proving to be a historically successful one with his new album, Compton: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre. The Billboard chart topping album has now became the number one album in Australia, making this his first hit solo album in the country.

Compton, the companion and unofficial soundtrack to the blockbuster film, Straight Outta Compton has landed at the top of the ARIA charts right above albums from The Rubens, Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan, and Taylor Swift’s 1989 album. In addition, the album also became a big hit in the United Kingdom, also landing at number one above Frank Turner’s Positive Songs for Negative People. His first album in nearly 16 years is surely becoming an international hit.

Meanwhile, the film, Straight Outta Compton has been no stranger to success either. The NWA biopic has garnered an impressive $56.1 million this box office weekend and $24.2 million on its opening day that Friday.
