Hip-Hop has been in a state of shock after Lil Wayne took to Twitter to hint at what many have assumed as his retirement. Weezy has been embroiled in legal woes with Birdman and Cash Money for quite sometime that has left him as he describes “defenseless” and mentally spent.
Amid the news of Wayne’s emotional state, Chris Brown and Drake both took to social media to show their support for their friend with heartwarming and encouraging posts. Brown unapologetically called many of today’s artists Wayne’s “students” and matter of factly stated that it was the Young Money QB who inspired him to live his life and helped mentor his career.
Drizzy also stood by his boss and mentor. After bringing him out in Philly for his Summer Sixteen tour, Lil Wayne graced the stage yet again with Drizzy as the tour made its way to Houston. Footage from the concert shows that his love for H-Town is unwavering, but he’s truly done with Cash Money.

Shortly after his performance, Drake took to Instagram to pledge his loyalty to the man who took a chance on him and gave him his start.
