The most unexpected reconciliation of the year between Drake and Chris Brown just got a major monkey wrench thrown in its onstage debut. According to TMZ, Breezy’s legal woes are holding the singer back from hitting the stage for this weekend’s OVO Fest, as Brown’s record may keep him from crossing the Canadian border.
Drake and Brown were reportedly scheduled to unveil their new collaboration that has kept the ‘Net abuzz since the two were pictured together in the studio. And while their skit at this year’s ESPYs was a highlight of the award show, a musical alliance would mark the real end of their “beef” over Rihanna (who is reportedly referenced in their new track).
Coincidentally (or not), Brown also took to Instagram this morning (Aug.2) for a little personal reflection on his rocky road, pointing to his troubles as his conduit to manhood:
“I been through a lot in my life. Made a lot of mistakes along the way. But through it all I’ve always been true to myself and through God I’ve been able to take care of my family! I should regret some things but I think the lessons learned will shape me into a real man. I’m grateful and appreciative! Thank you for life!”
Drake nor Chris Brown have addressed the cancellation reports.
