Drake pretty much runs the music industry, and now the rapper is making some serious money moves in TV and film. According to new documents obtained by TMZ, Drizzy has filed for a trademark in order to develop a TV game series named after his hit single “God’s Plan.”
Unfortunately the court docs don’t disclose what kind of game show Drake is looking to create or if he would be involved in the production or shooting portion of the new endeavor, but the show itself most likely involves giving away a lot of money.
In addition to the game series, the rapper is also looking to create new “God’s Plan” merchandise, as well as downloadable music, music videos, audio recordings, marketing and promotion.
“God’s Plan” is one of the lead singles off of Drake’s recently released album Scorpion. It makes sense that he is using it to market a new game show considering the creative direction of the music video.
The Karena Evans-directed music video, which was released in Feb. 2018 shows Drake as he spreads the love and wealth around the Miami area. He is seen gifting students, families, shelters, and other residents in need with large sums of money. Drake previously referred to the visual as “the most important thing” he’s ever done in his career thus far.
Stay tuned for more details regarding the “God’s Plan TV game show. In the meantime, revisit the music video below.
