Though it’s certainly not his first time on the television screen, Drake made his debut as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, this past weekend. October’s Very Own performed a couple jams off his upcoming, recently pushed back album, Take Care, and appeared in two comical skits.
The first skit, “A Brief Interview with Drake,” presented the artist in a one-on-one interview situation where he was subjected to odd interviews. The best part was the “A Matching Sweaters Interview With Drake,” which showed Drizzy and interviewer Andy Samberg in matching Coogi sweaters, in attempt to poke fun at Drake’s love for the warm knits.
Next, Drake took to the stage to perform his current single “Headlines,” where he sported his OVOXO sweater with pride. Following the performance was the “Weekend Recap,” which featured Drake as a teenager dressed a werewolf for Halloween. Drake and his fellow werewolf, played by Jay Pharaoh, busted out some rhymes about the trick-or-treat festivities. Oh, and Drake actually air humped the table in this one. Cray.
For the last performance, Drake brought out his admired first lady, Nicki Minaj, for his latest release, “Make Me Proud,” ending the night with a collaborative performance. –Shabazz
