Drake is mourning the loss of a fan who has passed away. The Scorpian rapper took to Instagram Monday (Nov. 5) to offer his heartfelt condolences after learning the 22-year-old died.
“Gonna miss you a whole lot,” Drake captioned.
In the Instagram post, Drake is seen wiping away tears from his eyes while sitting beside a woman known as Kay.
For nearly 40 years, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has helped young people with terminal illnesses meet their favorite entertainers or athletes. The “In My Feelings” rapper was on tour when he stopped by to meet Kay.
In the post, the entertainer details a genuine bond that was made during their first and only physical encounter but says it was her ambition and positivity he admired most.
Unfortunately, Drake didn’t get a chance to speak with Kay before her death. He writes she did text him for his birthday, but he didn’t get back to her in time, something he now feels guilty about.
“Gonna miss you a whole lot. We met through Make-A-Wish and we built a genuine bond you would text me and check on me while I was on tour and tell me positive things and share your dreams and goals. I am crying in this pic but it was tears of joy cause we just prayed for you with your father. I am sorry I missed your text on my birthday. That’s eating my soul right now, but you know how much I loved you and was looking forward to seeing you after the tour. “
Drake, who normally doesn’t use social media to vent was perplexed by his own behavior at the moment.
“I don’t know why I am writing this on IG. I just need to get it out ’cause it’s sitting heavy on my heart. Will remember you forever, K.”
