Sorry to break it to you, folks, but contrary to a new Grammys commercial that was aired at the Super Bowl this past weekend, Drake will not be joining the list of performers at this year’s awards ceremony.
During one of the Super Bowl breaks, an ad for the show aired promoting the “Summer Sixteen” rapper as one of the many artists performing at the event. For a brief moment, Drizzy fans jumped with excitement at the great surprise, but it was a feeling short lived. Drake, who was also surprised at the news, set the record straight on Twitter. “I am not performing at the Grammy Awards…but hey it’s the thought that counts,” he rapper tweeted.

In the past couple of days leading up to the Grammys, a number of new artists have been added to the list, so it wasn’t a completely misguided thought. Rihanna, Adele, Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, and more have been confirmed as performers that night. It would have been nice to see Drake and Rihanna shared the stage for their single, “Work,” but unfortunately that won’t be going down this year. The 58th Grammys will on February 15 at 8ET, on CBS.
