Drake’s hit single “One Dance” may have been a chart-topper in the United States, but it looks like South Africa got a taste of the turn up, after a number of images leaked suggesting Drizzy took his talents to the motherland for his upcoming video shoot.
The OVO rapper was spotted chopping it up with a number of people on the set of his new music video in the South African township of Soweto. Unfortunately, many details of the video are still uncertain, but based on fans’ pictures and leaked shots, we can start to put some of the puzzle pieces together.
For instance, Kyla, the UK singer who lent her vocals on the hook of the track did make the trip. The vocalist shared a pic on her Twitter account on June 25, taking a flight on South African airlines. “First international flight of the year!! Heavy!!!!!!!!” she captioned the image. And Popcaan was also in town. Although the Jamaican singer was dropped from Drake’s other popular dance number, “Controlla,” he was seen walking alongside Drizzy while on their way to a restaurant in Johannesburg.
Drake also made sure to cover all of his bases, recruiting the dance crew, Material Culture to set the video off. He shared a pictured of the group wearing vibrantly patterned clothing on his own Instagram account on June 28.
We may have gotten a little closer to seeing what the final product will look like, but as of now, Drake hasn’t revealed an official release date. Stay tuned as Drizzy drops more bread crumbs ahead of the “One Dance” video premiere.
