Drake is having a spectacular year, and that continues as he racks up 12 nominations for this year’s Soul Train Awards, while Beyonce comes in second with eight nominations.
The Toronto native is nominated within multiple categories including “Song of the Year” and “Album of the Year.” He’s coming off his electrifying Summer Sixteen Tour with Future that he recently canceled due to an ankle injury. Artists like Chance The Rapper, Rihanna, Adele, Bryson Tiller and Anderson .Paak will all be in the running for multiple awards as well.
Famed soul singer Erykah Badu will return as the host for this year’s show which is set to air on Nov. 27, and will tape on Nov. 6 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The night’s performers will include Jill Scott, Monica and many others. Brandy and Teddy Riley are also set to receive special honors.
