When Drake rolled out the trailer for his Nothing Was The Same trailer in a big, shiny Maybach, the Toronto rep sounded the trumpets in his grand entrance. The track in question was “Trophies,” produced by Hit-Boy and Raymond “Rey Reel” Martin.
His third effort finally descended this past summer but the record was nowhere to be found until his recent show in Brooklyn where a preview of the track blared throughout the Barclays Center. However, Drake reveals that it’s an upcoming attraction.
“It was definitely on the album. I know Hit-Boy is gonna watch this interview and (shakes head) but I’m not a throw-it-together kind of guy,” he tells Revolt TV, adding that there were different hooks that he was playing around with.
While his “Would You Like A Tour?” itinerary is jam-packed, the “Started From The Bottom” rapper says he also has records on the posthumous Aaliyah album, a collaboration with YG and the “Wu Tang Forever (Remix)” in the stash. Watch the interview above.
