Drake plans to work nonstop to dish out new tunes for the coming new year. After his fifth studio album Scorpion dropped in June, the Toronto native is itching to get back in the booth to compile the project’s follow-up.
According to Complex, the “Mob Ties” rapper revealed that once the “Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour” comes to a close, he might set up shop in a studio to put together a new soundscape. The news was echoed throughout Edmonton, Canada on Wednesday evening (Nov. 7), when the artist’s tour came into town.
“Because I keep having nights like this that remind me why I love my job so much, I promise you that as soon as this tour is over, and maybe I’ll take a little break, I’m going to get right to work on a new album…” he said to a roaring audience.

Scorpion hosted an A-side and a B-side collection of original songs from Drake. The album’s tracks were mainly spearheaded by the award-winning rapper except for a couple of features from Ty Dolla $ign, Static Major, and Michael Jackson. Another surprise collaboration came from JAY-Z, who’s listed on “Talk Up.”
In a VIBE interview with DJ Paul, the legendary rapper/producer discussed handling the instrumental for Drizzy’s “Talk Up” melody.
“I’ve been knowing Drake forever. He’s from Memphis, and I’m really cool with his father. Me and his father have the same attorney, we’ve hung out a million times. Real cool dude,” he said.
“We actually wrote a couple of songs together. We ain’t put them out yet, but we dibbled and dabbled with a couple ideas we’re putting together. He hit me up for a beat, which I couldn’t fucking believe. I got the message, and I was like, ‘what? Drake want some beats?’ So he hit me up for a beat, and it was a beat that me and my artist Twhy Exclusive produced. The song was actually my new single. Everybody’s been waiting on me to bring out my new single, but I was like ‘sh**, he can have this motherfu**er. Fu** that.’ Because I’ve got tons of beats, I can do that with my eyes closed. I sent it to him, and he loved it.”
