In January 2015, Drake managed to stop the music world when he dropped his unannounced project If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. The iTunes soundscape later went platinum, and set the course for a successful 365 for the Toronto native. Now, it looks like he’s planning to repeat that achievement with an update on his fourth studio album, Views From the 6.
While hosting a New Year’s Eve party at E11even nightclub in Miami, the “Energy” rapper shared a brief statement on his forthcoming project. “Views From the 6 coming very soon,” he said to a jam-packed crowd. Although there’s no concrete release date, spectators think it’ll arrive sometime this month.
Views will serve as a tribute to the Canadian’s hometown, and during the process of putting together the album, Drake said he had to revisit home base, meaning team up with producer Noah “40” Shebib again. “It was the set up to be able to return to working solely with 40, which is where I’m at now,” he said in an interview with The Fader. “I just wanted to be able to come back to that and have it be important.”
Drake has set himself up nicely for a promising and successful Views debut, mainly following his favored joint mixtape with Future, What A Time To Be Alive, which dropped in September. But the anticipation behind his forthcoming album has his loyal fans itching for its imminent release.
