E-40 fans everywhere can rejoice because the Bay Area native has returned with “These Days,” a new track bridging the gap between old and new school hip-hop. The feel-good song pays homage to his native hometown with a feature from Yhung T.O. and gives all the glory to God in this thankful bop about their come up.
Their collaboration is special because both artists are from Vallejo, Calif., which may be why the Sick Wid It Records creator chose Yhung T.O to create the new school hook he is so fond of.
The 50-year-old rapper takes fans back to the 90s with catchy comical verses. When speaking to XXL, the “Choices” rapper said, “I wanted to bring a young hook to a classic old-school soul slap. I knew that Yhung T.O. [would] crush it just like I expected. He did that!”
40 appears in this video in tan Fendi trench-coat and matching sweatband with a flashy “forty” chain. Meanwhile, T.O can be seen in a teeshirt and hoodie with an “RBE” chain smoking a backwood.
“These days” will be featured on E-40’s latest album, The Gift Of Gab, which includes special appearances from G Perico, Kent Jones, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples and more.
