It’s become abundantly clear that Ella Mai‘s “Boo’d Up” isn’t dying anytime soon. The 10 Summers signee will officially bring her hit song, which was originally released on her 2017 Ready EP, to the American Music Awards stage. As an added treat to viewers, she’ll also deliver an encore performance of “Trip” for Comcast’s Xfinity TV customers exclusively on Xfinity On Demand immediately following the telecast.
It’s all fitting, as the AMAs nominated the 23-year-old British singer for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Song (“Boo’d Up”). What a great way to follow up revealing the Chris Brown-assisted “Whatchamacallit,” a track from her forthcoming self-titled album, this week.

This fall will prove to be a milestone career moment in terms of performances. AMAs aside, Ella is set to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when her album drops on Oct. 12. Then, just a couple of months ago, Ella wrapped up her first tour (also named after her signature song).
