Ella Mai popped out to appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend (Nov. 17).
Hosted by Steve Carrell, Mai made her SNL debut with her breakthrough single, “Boo’d Up” before introducing “Trip” to the stage later in the show. Backed by a live band, the songstress brought full smiles to the stage as she sang her love-laden ballad.
After the initial performance, Mai re-appeared on stage accompanied by a change in set and wardrobe to bring “Trip” to the audience. Rocking contrast seamed pants, a mesh top, and a black trench coat, the 24-year-old delivered a velvety rendition of the platinum-certified track on the fenced stage.
“Last night was a dream come true,” Mai wrote on Twitter after her performance, thanking the late-night show for having her.
