While Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” plays on radio stations and streaming services in every city from Seattle to D.C., the British singer gifts fans with a brand new freebie dubbed “Trip.”
Over mesmerizing piano keys, Mai digs into her self to unearth some strong feelings for her significant other. The beautiful crooner also recognizes her mishaps in throughout the relationship.
“And that’s a whole lotta love, ain’t tryna waste it/Like we be runnin’ ’em out and never make it/That’s just too bitter for words, don’t wanna taste it/That’s just too bitter for words, don’t wanna face it, she sings on the Keys and Mustard-produced song.
Just before releasing “Trip,” Mai shared a video thanking fans for the success of “Boo’d Up.”
Earlier this year, the budding superstar announced that she will embark on the ‘Boo’d Up Tour,’ which commences Aug. 6 in Dallas, TX. From there, she will swing through Philly, Boston, Detroit, Brooklyn, and Chicago before heading out West, concluding with a show in Seattle.
According to Billboard, Mai was the first artist to take a debut Hot 100 song to the top 10 in 2018. She’s also the first woman to earn the honor since Cardi B whose “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” spent three weeks at No. 1 back in October 2018.
