The group, sans Fergie, returned to music with their latest effort “Yesterday” and released the visual, which pays homage to some of hip-hop’s most iconic records. Set in a record store, Will.i.Am, Taboo and Apl rhyme over some of the culture’s most recognizable and treasured beats hoping to step into The DeLorean and go back to what Will described as the “true school.”

However, if Badu fans watch the five-minute video, they’ll notice it borrows from her 2008 video “Honey.” In the video from Erykah’s New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) LP, Badu superimposes herself onto the album covers of classic records such as Eric B and Rakim’s Paid In Full, Nas‘ Illmatic and De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising.

Taboo took to his Facebook page to tell fans the song, just like the video, was to pay respect to their heros.
