On June. 16 one of hip-hop’s fallen saviors turns 40. However, without his physical presence with us, fans, friends and family can only hope that his spirit is in a better place. But more importantly, Tupac’s music and messages will never be left behind. This year Erykah Badu, Bun B, Mike Epps, Too Short and others will be celebrating his bornday at the Atlanta Symphony Hall in his honor.
“I am greatly honored to have been invited by Afeni Shakur to celebrate her son’s 40th birthday. I do not take this honor for granted,” Erykah Badu said in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to another year of preserving Tupac’s legacy by celebrating his life with his fans and furthering his causes by supporting his organization,” Mike Epps said.
