Chi-based singer-songwriter Eryn Allen Kane is back from her two year hiatus with a brand new single for the first time since 2016.
Today (Sept. 14) the young songstress released “Feel The Need,” a soulful island-inspired track set to lead her upcoming 8-track EP.
The track features Kane’s strong yet soothing vocals as she sings over a trumpet-infused Caribbean beat. After taking some years to create her new project, “Feel The Need” is the perfect track to get Allen back on the radar.
The four-minute track is Allen’s Allen’s first release since February 2016 when she dropped Aviary: Act II, the follow-up to her debut EP, Aviary: Act I. Though independently released, the projects together garnered over 15 million streams, carving an unmistakable space in the soul for the Prince-approved singer.
The singer shared the artwork to “Feel The Need” on Instagram, explaining why a photo of her mother was the perfect fit.
Aside from her solo releases, Kane has also worked with artists like Prince and Chance the Rapper, joining the “I Wanna Be Your Lover” star on his tribute song “Baltimore” in 2015 and Chance for the first time on Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s Surf and again on Coloring Book.
