Over the past few weeks, Fashawn has been dropping off freebies from his long-awaited album, The Ecology. Today (Feb. 19), the Frenso, Cali MC offers up another single, “Something To Believe In,” featuring Aloe Blacc on the hook, and Nas, who is also executive producer of the album.
Produced by DJ Khalil, “Something To Believe In” finds Fash and Nas waxing lyrically on an array of topics like politics, penal system, religion and pressing on in the face of adversity.
Earlier this week, Fash dropped “Out The Trunk,” with Busta Rhymes. Prior to “Out The Trunk,” Fash released “Guess Who’s Back.” Fash recently spoke with VIBE about The Ecology and recording with Nas.
“I played him a song off what I thought was my finished project, and I played the whole record all the way through, and he said, ‘This record is not what it could be so you might want to approach that second verse a little different.’ That was the only time that I someone suggested I change a verse,” Fashawn said.
