Things just keep going up for Fetty Wap. The rapper just landed a number one spot for his debut, self-entitled album on the Billboard 200 chart. The album released on September 25 via RGF/300 Entertainment and has already sold over 75,000 copies. Fetty is no stranger to the top charts though. The “My Way” rapper previously held top spots for three of his singles including, “Trap Queen,” “679,” and “My Way.”
Reflecting on how far he’s come, Fetty shared a video on Instagram celebrating his ascension to the top of the charts. He also acknowledged his fans for helping him make the turnaround possible. “Last year, I didn’t have an address. This year, I have five addresses. If it wasn’t for y’all, Fetty Wap wouldn’t be here,” he wrote.
Fetty Wap is the first hip-hop artist to see their debut studio album hit No.1 on the coveted Billboard chart in two years. The last to accomplish the feat was A$AP Rocky with Long.Live.A$AP. It’s turning out to be a great year for the newcomer. And popping bottles is the only thing in order for the rapper as the good news keeps rolling in.
