Dust thou ears deceive us? Will the world be hearing some new music from Frank Ocean? Well according to the singer-songwriter himself, yes!
Ocean took to his Tumblr Monday (April 6) to announce the title for his sophomore project Boys Don’t Cry, which is set for release July 2015.
It’s been almost three years since the release of Ocean’s last record Channel Orange. The musical debut landed at number two on the billboard charts moving 131,000 copies its first week. The 16-track record, which featured the Pharrell produced single “Sweet Life” also made waves with Ocean’s song “Bad Religion” in which the singer came out as bisexual while professing his love for a man.
According to sources, the 27 year old Grammy award winner has been diligently in the studio working with Rodney Jerkins and Hit-Boy.
We’re sure Boys Don’t Cry will be filled with thought-provoking cryptic lyrics that Ocean is known for.
Man, listen, July can’t get here fast enough.
Update: A rep for Ocean has confirmed with Billboard a new album is indeed on the way, but no title has been chosen yet.
