It appears that Frank Ocean’s video-album Endless will not be available on streaming services after all, and that news comes straight from the horse’s, er, fingers’ mouth.
“Soon we’ll be able to listen to Endless track-by-track!!!!!! (officially lol),” wrote IG fan page @frankoceanblonded of the report. According to an Instagram comment under the photo regarding the 45-minute video’s release on platforms outside of its original home, Apple Music, the Blonde singer simply wrote: “Fake news” with two lightning bolt emojis surrounding the succinct phrase.
“The album was expected to be made available as early as today (Jan. 25), according to two people familiar with the matter, but others say it has been delayed and will be made available soon,” wrote Billboard in its exclusive report. “It’s also unclear why the album will be released now, two and a half years later. A rep for Def Jam declined to comment, while reps for Ocean could not be reached.”
Ocean is no stranger to debunking reports regarding his music and content. Reports circulated in summer 2016 that his supposed album Boys Don’t Cry would drop in early August. However, it was just the name of a limited edition magazine.
