In an interview with MTV News on Monday (July 18), the rapper was asked about the previous one-sided beef and Drizzy’s contribution to “No Shopping.” While the rapper spits “I’m not a one-hit wonder, they know all my stuff / You let me turn into the n***a that you almost was” and his last name, French knows for a fact the Slaughterhouse rapper wasn’t on their minds. “I don’t think we did that record thinking about Joe Budden,” French said. “It’s not that I don’t think — I know that for a fact.”
Instead, the rapper says the track was made in good energy like his other hits with Drake (“Pop That,” “Stay Schemin”). The message wasn’t felt by everyone else, including Budden himself. Shortly after “No Shopping” was dropped on Saturday (July 16), Budden dropped his third diss track, “Afraid.”
Aside from his pals Drake and Kanye’s current dilemmas, the rapper shared the concept behind his upcoming album, MC4 and more.
