
The names of performers hitting the stage for the 2018 Global Citizen Festival have just been announced and so far, the free concert is shaping up to be one for the books.
The Sept. 29th show will feature performances from Cardi B, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monae and recent Billboard Icon Award recipient Janet Jackson. More names are expected to be added to the bill.
The festival will be held in New York’s Central Park and will be televised live on MSNBC and broadcasted across all iHeartMedia’s stations.

Global Citizen recently announced the South African installment of the beloved concert, titled Mandela 100. The concert will be headlined by Beyonce and JAY Z and feature performances from Usher, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Fela Kuti’s son Femi Kuti.
To score tickets for either the New York or South African shows, attendees are instructed to download the Global Citizen app.
The purpose of the festival is to bring together music’s biggest stars as well as the world leaders to to help stop hunger and increase education for girls around the world.
At 2017’s Global Citizen Festival Stevie Wonder was among the performers who took a knee in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. Other performers included Big Sean, Alessia Cara, The Killers, The Chainsmokers and Green Day.
